William Robb is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and is internationally known in the field of upper gastrointestinal surgery. Mr Robb is delighted to have now joined with Blackrock Clinic to provide weight loss surgery and is excited to introduce Ireland’s first Robotic Surgery Program for weight loss.
He has had exceptional training in all aspects of stomach surgery. He spent over 2 years in Lille, France working in Europe’s foremost department of surgery for stomach and oesophageal disease. Mr Robb then spent 2 years as a Consultant Surgeon in Bristol, England. He then returned to Ireland in 2015 as a Consultant in Upper GI Surgery in Beaumont Hospital and Blackrock Clinic. He has spent time training in bariatric surgery in the United Kingdom, Austria, France and Portugal.
Currently, Mr Robb is one of only two surgeons in Ireland to perform totally minimally invasive surgery for resection of the oesophagus. He is also delighted to provide Ireland’s first robotic programme for weight loss surgery using the Xi DaVinci Robot available in Blackrock Clinic.
Mr. Robb has published 44 peer reviewed surgical research articles in highly regarded international journals and has also published 5 book chapters in his field of expertise. He has presented work internationally and continues to be involved in clinical research and academic teaching through his role as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
